NATIVE OPTIONS (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a Shopify app that helps merchants add product options and upsells to their stores. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information in connection with our app and services. We comply with applicable privacy laws, including the GDPR (EEA/UK), CPRA (California), and other relevant regulations.
1. Information we collect through Shopify’s APIs
When you install and use NATIVE OPTIONS, we access data via Shopify’s APIs that is necessary to provide the app’s features. This may include:
- Shop information (e.g. shop domain, name)
- Products, variants, and inventory data
- Metaobjects and metafields used for option sets and configuration
- Theme and store configuration relevant to rendering options
- Order/cart-related data only to the extent required for option and variant logic
We use this information solely to operate the app (e.g. rendering options, rules engine, inventory-aware logic) and to improve our services.
2. Information we collect directly from merchants
We may collect information you provide when using our app or contacting us, such as:
- Contact and account details (e.g. email, name) when you sign up or request support
- Preferences and settings you configure in the app
- Communications with our support team
- Automated logs of your use of the app (e.g. feature usage, errors) for operation and support
3. Information related to merchants’ customers (store visitors)
Our app is designed to run within your Shopify store. We do not independently drop cookies or tracking technologies on your customers’ devices for advertising or cross-site tracking. Any data we process about your customers (e.g. option selections, cart-related data) is processed on your behalf to deliver the app’s functionality and is handled in line with our agreements and this policy. We do not sell your or your customers’ personal information.
4. How we use the information we collect
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve NATIVE OPTIONS
- Support you and respond to inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
- Protect against fraud and abuse
We do not use your or your customers’ data for purposes unrelated to providing and improving our app without your consent or as required by law.
5. Data retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the app, support you, comply with law, and resolve disputes. When you uninstall the app or request deletion, we delete or anonymize your data in line with our data deletion practices and Shopify’s requirements, except where we must retain it for legal or regulatory reasons.

We are not established in the European Economic Area (EEA). If we store or process personal data outside the EEA, we do so using appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or other approved mechanisms) where required by applicable law.
